According to the complaint filed by the victim, Mallela Venkataramana Murthy, his sister, and several others allegedly stripped and assaulted her during the confrontation that began over a dispute involving a water motor. Based on her complaint, Nagarampalem Police arrested nine accused in connection with the incident and initiated legal proceedings.

He emphasized that no individual would receive political protection and instructed officials to ensure that the law is enforced without bias or interference.
Following the incident and the subsequent arrests, the Telugu Desam Party suspended Mallela Venkataramana Murthy from the party. The action came after the allegations against him surfaced and police initiated proceedings based on the victim's complaint.
